This is a criminal record check that gives full details about a person’s criminal record such as spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, warnings, cautions and it is Carried out by Disclosure and Barring Service. The nature of the employment and profession which you are applying is exempt from the provisions of section 4.2 of the rehabilitations of offender’s act 1974 (exemption order 1975). So all the candidates are not entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are ‘spent’ under the provisions of the act and in the event of employment. Failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action. The information given will be strictly confidential and will be considered only if this offence apply for position that you are applying.
